Off on another trip…
It will soon be time to take to the skies again. I will fly to Atlanta then fly to Dublin. David and Patrick will be waiting for me, and we will take the train to Belfast.
Now it begins, now it starts. I hope to keep my travel blog going as I travel, not like my trip to Spain that has a lot to be desired, like the names of the fantastic restaurants my son found. This time I am carrying a small note pad and pencil to write down each place.
I am also working on remembering to ZIP MY PURSE. Pickpockets watch for open purses and cell phones in the back pocket of jeans. I’ll never forget the smirk on the face of the guy who bumped into me on the Metro in Valencia. My purse was unzipped and he had just stolen my old Samsung phone. Not all Americans are rich and carry new Macs his gang might have been a bit disappointed. I have been practicing by keeping my purse zipped as I do at the grocery shopping.
That has become a bit different lately. As many know, my husband of 58 years has dementia. He also has difficulty getting around so, to give him an outing, he goes to HEB with me. However, he needs help walking so he will push the basket and follow me. Now, that is hard on me. I must be sure he is behind me, not walk too fast, and remember where in the store they have moved whatever I am looking for. (I am well aware of the marketing trick, but it does not make it any less annoying. Yes, they hope if I must hunt for something, I will do some impulse purchases.)
I leave my purse in the basket and carry my phone with the list. I zip it because I am not sure John would react to someone grabbing my bright yellow wallet.
In other news, Change is the Only Option: Surviving Higgins World 1 now has a bright cover and is available on Amazon. If you buy a copy, please write a review. Book 2 is about to get a new cover and book 3 will be joining it online after I get back from my trip. Book 4 is about half done and I have quite a bit done on Book 5.

Have a safe and fun trip!
